Logan Indoor Sports Centre - possible Olympics, Paralympics venue - to be built ahead of Brisbane 2032
Logan will get a new sports venue that could host events for the Brisbane Olympics and Paralympics in 2032.
Logan Indoor Sports Centre will be built in the city’s centre and will be designed to host sports including basketball, netball, volleyball, futsal, handball, wheelchair rugby, sitting volleyball, wheelchair basketball, badminton, fencing, table tennis, and taekwondo, according to designers.
The venue, south of Brisbane, will be able to accommodate about 7000 spectators.

However it has not been officially been designated as an Olympics and Paralympics venue.
Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers, whose electorate Rankin encompasses the land designated for the centre, described the development as an “asset for our local community”.
Logan Mayor Jon Raven welcomed the prospect of the city hosting events for Brisbane 2032.
“The chance to potentially host Olympic and Paralympic events and training in the City of Logan will put us on the world stage to show off the beauty, culture and talent of this great city,” he said.
The announcement follows a series of new sporting infrastructure for Queensland to be built ahead of the games, including Moreton Bay Indoor Sports Centre, north of Brisbane.
Barlow Park in Cairns will also be upgraded, while games bosses have released plans for the athletes village at Hamilton.
